The first time I did press a digit on my phone (landline) and there was an Indian voice telling me that he was from bt, when I challenged him on that he mentioned vodafone and I told him to not call again.

This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre.
