Just received a call from this number asking if we take American Express - I advised no and asked what company they were from assuming it was a customer. He just said he was exploring opportunities for points on his cards. This number appears to be associated with American Express but it would be nice if they were honest about the reason for their call. Call back not possible as I would have asked to be removed from their database.

Fraud - national crime agency scam
Called today by someone claiming to be from HMRC (0141 2284991) regarding tax payment (they knew the details!) and claiming an arrest warrant / judicial court case if not paid today. Was passed to someone called Victoria, claiming to be from the NRA who later called back on a London number (0207 2382626). This is a scam. Do not pay anything and report to Action Fraud and HMRC. Needless to say when she called back about non payment and was challenged, she hung up!

I was cold called and told that as I was under 65 and drawing a deferred company pension I was entitled to a £1,000 pound payment. I asked who this was calling and all they would say was The helpline . I told them that I was registered with Telephone Preferences and that I should not receive such calls. I further told them to remove my name from their database.

UK (not sure why it comes up as Hanoi on here!) - Worldwide scam phonecall from DHL in the UK spoofing the actual DHL customer service number so it looks/sounds legit, automated Chinese voice asking you to press 9 to speak to someone regarding a parcel, then repeats the message in Chinese. Scam mobile number. After i made a flight booking through OPODO i immediately get a txt message saying my credit card was declined and i was to answer YES to stop future declined. Unfortunately i did reply YES. So this could mean they will use my number for future scam attempts. I already checked my phone for any malware (avg scan). Anything else i should do? This call came about half an hour after the last, and was easily recognisable because of the usual crackling. I bellowed "Hello" loudly enough to burst the caller s eardrums, and that put an end to it. The number used by these criminals, who want me to allow them to infect my computer, was as fictitious as the previous one had been.

3 phone calls in 3 days from this no. Having searched this site and others to read reports of Windows scams etc. I decided to answer this one. An Asian man asked if I was Miss Christine. I said "Who? Who s calling?" He hung up, I didn t for another 3 minutes, so presumably prevented him from bothering someone else. Reporting to ICO.
