Spam. "Local" Phone number is provided using a product called Dial Sure by Nextbridge Communications. It is a service that allows call centres (Accident injury, PPI etc) to pretend they are a local number as you are more likely to answer a local call on your phone.
SCAM - claimed to be o2 with me offering a discount, needed to send me 2 text messages and give them a code. They are trying to get you to give them the code then they can simswap you.

Called claiming to be Curry’s Pc World acting on behalf of network providers giving customers better deals. Phoned Curry’s to check legitimacy and they informed me this is definitely a scam as they don’t even have an outbound sales call team anymore and don’t act under the Currys Pc World name anymore, just ‘Curry’s’.
