Called my elderly mum lying to her saying her washing machine insurance with D&G was ending. NOT ENDING! Spoke about a direct debit and then tried taking a one off payment from her?!?! From my knowledge in working in contact centres/sales I told her to stop the call and to do some research. SCAMMERS trying to rip off anyone they can. Called my workplace and asked to speak to someone regarding our meter reading, claiming to be from British Gas. Handed them to relevant person, they then asked the relevant person to send across details of our meter (i.e. meter number) luckily relevant person had spoken to legitimate british gas over email and had already sorted this out. Relevant person came back to me and said that it was a fraudulent call and they were attempting to get our meter details. FRAUD!!
