Had a call from 01497 874850. From BT Openreach regarding untrustworthy downloads from Facebook / Google. Wanted me to connect to a page on internet to check security has not been compromised. When challenged (ie no problems noticed, I would not connect to any page while on the phone - I would contact BT myself), they hung up. Obvious telemarketing / scamming.

INTERNET SCAM This number from Switzerland called saying that they would cut off my internet if I didn't respond to their technical executive! 4th call today with this internet story. I will, again, block this number but it's getting ridiculous now on my landline, I should let the answerphone switch on before I answer further calls.

I can't recommend BT call guardian enough, free with a new handset so easy and avoids all these crap calls, I only ever check these numbers now after my phone displays they called but we're blocked ???? Best money you'll ever spend.
