More to add to the entry above... I think he's a very clever robotic system as he doesn't quite react naturally to questions. I suspect it can also spoof the phone number that it's reportedly calling from as my phone has a couple of missed calls from very very similar numbers: 01305300352, 01305300289, 01305300287. It's obviously fishing for vulnerable targets.

Rang me 5 times in 2 minutes. Repeatedly rang then hung up. No option to call back and when I did pick up on the 5th ring in time, they hung up. Likely some scam artists!

The woman might have been genuine but was extremely rude and gabbled on so fast I couldn't always catch what she said.
My wife answered the phone, and an apparently recorded message said that there was a suspicious transaction involving a £300 bill from Amazon which had not been paid. Then she was asked to press some number at which point she ended the call. I found the callers number by using 1471. The call appears to be a scam.
Got a text from TCUK for holiday deals to Africa and to call this number. Deleted right away

Asian voice called me claiming to be from EE, offering 40% off charges. I could see it was an Inverness number so said I didn't believe he was from EE, at which point he said I could fcuk myself! Number now blocked.

SCAM - somebody called to ask to speak to my husband regarding his business account with British Gas. When I asked them to contact my husband's business directly they stated that the only number they had (which is our home number). They gave me a reference number and asked if my husband could call them. It all sounded very plausible - please be aware.
