This American male calls night after night to a business number and asks for a service that they offer, but then states that their situation is so top secret that they can't share what it is that they want. They then say suddenly that they have to go and they put the phone down. Initially withheld their number. Very odd behaviour and comes across as rather off balance. This is probably stalking/harassment, but it's to an unknown business.
How come Untrustworthy Unknown Trash like this number can harass me BUT i am not allowed to find out their name!! You can imagine my thoughts regarding the complete waste of time and space the so called Data Protection Act actually: OH no it s there to protect these wasters!! Money talks as always doesn t it. An Asian gentleman said he was from talk talk and needed to check my router. Asked for access to my PC which I reluctantly gave as he was able to give me part of my address and my talk talk account number. Offered me a refund of ?200 but I needed to access my bank account. He had control of my PC so I did not want to do this. Hung up on him as he was too persistent for comfort!!!

Rang my mother . Knew all her details. Pretended to be British Gas and said if she paid 199.99 now she would save money. They even knew her BG home service plan was up for renewal soon. He was so polite and convincing, she gave her bank card details. Luckily Nationwide have done a visa dispute and refunded her. We have phoned trading standards, British gas . Written a cancellation letter to so called company. This needs to go to Watchdog.

Silent call The owners of this number need to learn how to use an autodialler properly. Twice today (so far) I've picked up phone to silence at the other end. Whatever they're selling, I'd be reluctant to buy from a company that makes silent calls because they can't set up an autodialler correctly. Clue: You need people at YOUR end to speak to those who pick up. Amateurs!

Scam text purporting to be from British Gas saying they have made an appointment for me. I did not respond but then had several texts on the day they said the appt had been made saying they were on their way but might be late! No-one turned up I'm pleased to say. I didn't click any links so don't know what the scam is about - probably an information phishing expeditiion - but it is very clever and needs to be exposed.

Phoned my child, apparently got to know her first name. Can only think it is spam or scam. Tried to call them back to determine who they were. Never answered phone would ring for almost 60 seconds then be cut off.

Picked up, the line was silent and then started ringing as though I had called the number (I get the feeling this is a reverse charges scam) Someone picked up on the other end after 1 ring said my name then hung up. Number is being blocked - be careful!
