Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. Similar numbers are reported as a telemarketing - scam PPI calls mainly. Did someone answer any number of this range? Is there any reason why companies use line with shared costs for just ringing you and left no message (other than scam...)? If this was a silent call for you, do not call back for any reason! I was called by this number this morning with a reference to my extended warranty for my washing machine having run out. I should definitely think so, the machine is over 25 years old and has never had an extended warranty!
SCAM I have had three calls from this number today, and at least that number over the last few weeks. It purports to be from amazon, and opens by congratulating me on my amazon purchase. It goes on to say " if you did not make this purchase.......". I cannot say what the remainder of the message is, because at that juncture I terminate the call. The offending number is 07388730907; it is registered in the Russian Federation, and I can think only that it is an attempted scam.

From the background noise this was a call centre. The caller claimed to be BT saying that my broadband had been compromised and was open to hackers. He asked me to turn on my PC. I challenged him and said he was not British Telecom, his reply was 'so what'

Came up as a Dereham number claiming to represent a legal firm and asking about an accident I've not had. When I argued with the girl (Liverpool accent) she said that with my attitude I'd receive a lot more similar calls! Sure enough in the next 5 minutes I got 2 more from completely different numbers, this time in Scotland so clearly they are scammers of some kind and the stupid cow was too daft to realise that her actions merely proved their status as scammers.
