SCAM This looked like a local number BUT it was a recorded message purporting to come from Amazon about a sizeable sum taken from my account for an order and to press 1 if it wasn't me who made the order. Needless to say I hung up without pressing any numbers.

Claims to be a mobile phone company, that can offer you a better deal and will offer you the latest iPhone 14 max pro for £20 per month. These scammers, ask you to pay for the Insurance of the device, normally over £100 and will never send the phone.

I had a phone call from this number today (25/02/2022-17:17) (0161-520-1872 !!!) The person on the line asked for me by name. Which seem very odd to me. As this is a number that I did not know. And told me that he calling to ask if my home had any damaged from the recent bad weather we have had. When I then asked him on how he got my personal number. He then told me that he got it from my local council. At this point I told him that I did not need his services. The phone line was poor in sound, therefore

Called me and implied that they were operating on behalf of my estate agent and this was the 'next step' in the purchase of my new property. Tried to get my address details claiming that it was all part of 'data protection' - when I said 'heck no - I'm not giving you any details' then they doubled down on the the claim that they were operating on behalf of my estate. Very upsetting.

Then wanted details from me !! Total scam and in breach of the rules set out by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), including specific guidelines about how they contact you. Kept calling back when I told the heavily accented person on the other end of the phone to go away and that I didn't want to talk to him. Would not tell me why he was calling. Finally threatened me that he would send people round to my house to deal with me.

Asian voice called me claiming to be from EE, offering 40% off charges. I could see it was an Inverness number so said I didn't believe he was from EE, at which point he said I could fcuk myself! Number now blocked.
