Received text message claiming to be from Royal Mail as I refused to pay £2.99 with link to reschedule delivery. Did click on the link which was very stupid , ( I was expecting the parcel ) but nothing happened and no other details from me were asked . It was just a blank page. Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated - all the same range) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. Similar numbers are reported as a telemarketing. Did someone answer any number of this range? when I answer a call from this number, they automatically dial another number which I would no doubt have to pay for if I did not hang up immediately. I hope these kind of calls can be stopped. I have, in the past, been called by the same method and have been charged for a premium rate number.

Caller said he was from BT and would arrange for an engineer to call round in the next 2 days to install a device that would stop nuisance calls it would last for 15 years. The cost would be a one off charge of £8. Did I want to proceed with getting my line configured. I work in the industry the caller sounded amateurish but could see how other people might be taken in.
