Congratulates you for being chosen to be in a free prize draw; didn't pick up the phone but called back from a private line which was answered immediately by the automated message.

This is a company called Secure Homecare Ltd, trading as 247 Assist. They purport to provide homecare services such as pendant alarms etc. Once they have an elderly persons phone number they ring regularly, approxiately once every 2 months and sell a further item - usually in the region of about £135- £150.00. We were able to obtain a refund for the last one sold completely unecessarily to my mother - it took about a month to get a refund. We asked them to ensure that they removed details from their databas

Had a missed call from this number-seeing it as a local area code I called back, and had a recorded message saying PK Legal have tried to get in contact, and to contact them via a post to Bury...... I decided to also dial 1471 and said the number that called was 0161 814 7885...so called that...and it was the same recording from "PK Legal"!!!! Ghosting phone numbers is crafty- make you more likely to answer as your local code used... Sounds like a SCAM!

Asked to speak to a certain person. I asked what the call was about, never confirming whether I was that person. I was given both the address and DOB without them confirming that I was that person properly. A clear breach of data protection. DO NOT ANSWE

Rapid Data Recovery (and many local variations) Needed some data recovering and asked for a quote. Subsequently decided not to pursue as they have LOADS of negative feedback on the internet. Then wouldnt stop ringing me. Be very wary.

Automated message. Allegedly the National Crime Agency calling to tell me my National Insurance Number has been suspended for suspicious / fraudulent activity and I need to Press 1 to talk to an Officer immediately before my assets are frozen and I’m arrested! Haha.

A recorded message saying that my internet had been hacked and that there was suspicious activity - then asked me to select option 1. When I didn’t, the phone went dead!

you tell these people you are not interested and to your name of their dialler and block them so they just phone you from another number, sometimes a mobile. When it is a local number i tried just letting it ring then calling them back to see who they wer

SCAM "This is HMRC, you have been accused of a tax fraud. Press 1 for more details. If you do not press 1 then a warrant will be issued in your name and you will be arrested shortly." I have no idea what happens if you press 1 because I hung up. Scam.
