Automated call, supposedly advising that two large payments had been paid from a card. It said press 1 to stop it. I put the phone down as obvious scam.

I want a location of this number
Called me and implied that they were operating on behalf of my estate agent and this was the 'next step' in the purchase of my new property. Tried to get my address details claiming that it was all part of 'data protection' - when I said 'heck no - I'm not giving you any details' then they doubled down on the the claim that they were operating on behalf of my estate. Very upsetting.
This number is persistantly ringing numerous times in the day , including early morning as is extremely annoying.

I have been called several times yesterday back to back from firstly a London number twice, then twice from private number and this one today. They all start by saying am I ****** when I ask who they are they mumble something then ask me if I own or rent my property. The person who called today was female and I could actually understand what she said, except for the initial mumble. The first two London calls where listed as suspected spam, however, some of calls in this category have been bona fide.
The caller ID showed metro dry cleaners but the caller said they were from carphone warehouse calling about a 'special promotion'. He said he got my number 'from the database'. Hung up and googled the number, possibly a scam using a legitimate business number

I have BT guardian which asks callers to announce who they are before I answer. Most sales calls hang up at that point, this one didn't. Lovely lady explained that I could have a half hour appointment to check energy efficiency of my home and advise of any improvements. I made the appointment. Very polite young man called Adam arrived, checked the loft and roof, looked around, discussed my energy payment per month. The information given was useful, nothing to sign, no sales pitch. I would have no worries.

Return phone number on text message warning supposedly from Santander Bank. I confirmed with Santander the message was not from them. Text deleted. Originating phone number blocked.(it was a UK mobile number which I didn’t note)

The number called from was not 839, the number was 849. the 849 number was not listed. The 849 number said they were the I. R. S.. "SCAM" Was the call from England or Ohio?
Said they were Visa Fraud dept, and that £800 was scheduled to go to a gambling site in USA. No mention of which bank account or card number.

SCAM Third Chelmsford number blocked today. They hung up when I answered but upon dialling the number displayed, was met with automated message saying CB Brokers or CD Brokers. Suspect it's the same scumbags who have been scamming my elderly mother for a number of years by signing her up for appliance insurance for appliances she doesn't own. SCAM Had a text from this no saying they were Simon from FedEx. They had tried to deliver a parcel to my address ( someone was home ) in the text was a link to have your parcel re delivered asking for all your personal information and bank details. Be very careful
