They called me pretending to be Windows support stating my ID had been compromised. They were very convincing. Got me to share laptop using Anydesk and also got me to run a WIN+r function. After they didnt call back as promised realized i had been scammed.

She said she would not disclose any further do I terminated the call. I later checked here and found the number is linked to the hospital. Well this is some landline from Manchester area, I couldn't find any info for this specific number, but there are two facts : people do search for this number which can be seen from different similar pages, and there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated, all the same 016176801xx) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. Probably calling with different offers for different comapnies, but for sure some general call centre. People did someone answer it?

Very poor line. A caller with a strong Indian accent claimed to be calling from BT claiming that somebody had been using my internet connection without my permission. I have had various calls of this nature from other numbers recently, one of them asking for remote access to my computer. They hung up when I told them that I had recently checked the hub admin screen and had seen no evidence of misuse.
