This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as a scam offers (in most cases accident claims). For sure some general call centre. I never answer any call on my mobile unless the number is in my phone book. Nor do I answer landline calls - if people need to get hold of you they will leave a message, a name and a number. I have a 2nd landline number which I do answer as only family and friends have it. How do you block a number on a mobile?

Had a call from 01497 874850. From BT Openreach regarding untrustworthy downloads from Facebook / Google. Wanted me to connect to a page on internet to check security has not been compromised. When challenged (ie no problems noticed, I would not connect to any page while on the phone - I would contact BT myself), they hung up. Obvious telemarketing / scamming.
