Automated call A number that shows up as a local call on my landline (without prefix)..However, it is followed by the well-known 7 bleeps and a pre-recorded message saying "Thank you for calling". I have received hundreds of calls of this type from numbers all over the country. Why it seems to be impossible to put a stop to the company that is responsible for these nuisance calls is something I simply do not understand.

This contact number is Business Energy Compare and telecommunications Group. They are a trusted and compliant company based in Morecambe, Lancashire registered with companies house and handle business energy services, including telecommunications
Every time you phone this number it rings once then goes on to engaged tone I think what they are selling is a scam took my money in January no goods received and no response from them.

Call center Difficult to hear in busy call centre, sounded like she said it was on behalf of Currys PC World. When I asked how I could help her she said 'ok' and then hung up. Very much doubt it was a legitimate call
My wife answered the phone, and an apparently recorded message said that there was a suspicious transaction involving a £300 bill from Amazon which had not been paid. cold calling - they pretend to be linked to lots if Life Assurance companies and acting on their behalf. They are not. Was bored and made up some data, they they pass you to someone who tries to sell you a policy. They quote the FCA many times - but when pushed confirm they are not regulated by them. Hang up, or have 5 mins of fun winding them up
