This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. Has rung 3 or times a day for several days. Initially I refused to answer as it was an unknown number and never left a message. Then one brief message was left, merely asking for my name but not announcing who was calling, so I have answered twice since, thrash it out with them and get them to leave me alone but each time it has been total silence. A call centre in Bridgend, judging by the code.

"Virgin Media Technical Support", telling me that there was an infection on my router, tried to get me to run the ASSOC command - this is a well-known introduction for a scammer to convince his mark that there is a computer problem. In fact, ASSOC will do nothing useful at all - they will then want you to install a remote control program so they can "fix" your computer, whereas what will happen is that they will steal your details, banking etc., and/or install ransomware which locks you out of your computer
