This is Barclaycard fraud prevention number. I received the call today from this number and the automated voice mentioned my full name and the month and year of birth. After confirming this information by pressing number 1 on the keypad the IVR informed me that my card with numbers ending with XXXX has been compromised and a replacement will be issued. The call ended with the option to speak to an adviser.

Type of call is fraud . I am getting texts from Barclays Bank telling me I ve done something with my account and if I don t agree then I am to call 03332001014. I guess it s a premium rate number and if I did call it regarding a text from my bank would they then proceed to try and get my bank details. I haven t called it of course but wanted to share the fact that this number is being used in a scam!

Said they were from my provider and wanted to thank me for my loyalty but also wanted me to confirm several details about myself so he could tell me about some special offers. 01986684739 Caller (Paul Smith) with a very strong indian accent, claimed to be from Virgin Media technical team - did not do any security. Asked me what colour light was on WiFi box. I asked him why no security? He said he was regulated by OFCOM and not allowed to take any personal details. He claimed to have my service record number, all his calls are recorded, the call would not cost me anything and was calling to help me with issues with my internet that have flagged up on their system and malware. Don’t waste your time registering and installing Apps to stop calls. Most of them don’t work and are just another way for the scammers to get your details.
