These jokers called me today addressing me as "Mr Steven" I said where are you calling from? He said "Nationwide" I said "Really? Well then you should know that in Britain nobody is Mr first name either just use their first name or Mr with their last name". This confused my thickly accented Indian friend greatly but I think he understood me in the end. has repeatedly rung me trying to make me pay for an advert in his crime prevention magazine that he says I agreed to but I know I didnt. Last phone call was today he became aggressive and nasty, resorting to bullying tactics. Hope I ve heard the last of him but I doubt it somehow. called my landline today 6/7/20 which is the same exchange, after a silence the phone was answered by a man giving his name and said he was calling about my government-funded loft insulation. It sounded like he was on speaker phone in a very echoey room. I hung up and have blocked this number
SCAM said they were amazon and had taken £300 out of my account for an order. If you didn't order press 1 on your phone to get connected to cancel.
Said they were Mcafee support, handling issue relating to our home "network" which would mean all devices using network (he meant router) would shortly become infected and stop working. Wanted £200 to fix, as our Mcafee didn't cover "network". Said we'd call back and given this number. Subsequently checked with Currys who support some of our tech who confirmed it's a scam
When I answered it was like I was on hold to Asian talking and music.
