Just been called by this number. I am a receptionist for an Opticians, and they said they were from HMRC, and wanted to speak to the owner of the company regarding research. Said they wished to speak to the person who does the Income Tax for the company. I said my boss was unavailable, and could I give her a message and a number to contact them on. Call was a recorded message saying that I had 2 transactions off £750 off my Credit card this morning if this was not you press 1. I didn't do it but I did check with my accounts and it appears to be a scam. As they didnt say which Credit company either. Plus surely they wouldn't use a mobile phone either. They would use land line to ring from. Plus an email or text.
