Automated caller with female voice claiming charges made to VISA account, one of around £700 and another of £900 from earlier in the day. Prompts the caller to press '1' to cancel the charges. Would appear to be a scam and would strongly recommend not pressing 1 and hanging up and blocking the number,

SCAM Caller said they were from Amazon and that I would have a high payment charged monthly (£79.99) unless cancelled and the caller was going to "help me" cancel my Amazon Prime subscription. After some arguing (as she tried to get me to stay on the line), I hung up and checked Amazon website going through their online chatbot. Call is a recorded message claiming that taxed is owed to the HMRC, but no name/address or other details are given as to who the call is intended for and that if you don't press 1 to be connected to an advisor immediately, then "a warrant will be issued and you will be arrested" - clearly a phishing scam, as even if HMRC notified people about outstanding tax owed by pre-recorded telephone message (they don't), they certainly don't threaten arrest via recorded message and they usually tend

As other victims have reported sometimes they put the phone down when you answer, sometimes they ask for you by name and when you answer put the phone down. Why???? what is the point? Finally once when I called them back I got to speak to a supervisor called Stuart who has promised to stop the calls - we ll see......
