I’ve experienced a very odd phone call this afternoon. Automated phone call as soon as I said “hello” the automated phone call started. “Your name has been used in a fraud claim, from the HMRC. SCAM/SPAM. I was called on the 26/08/20 by this number. The caller said they were from SKY (my TV, telephone and broadband provider). He informed me that he was ringing to test my modem and improve its performance. He asked me to type a few commands which included the word “SKY”. He then asked me to permit remote access. I received an automated voice message claiming to be from Amazon Prime, saying that my Amazon Prime account will continue and that a sum of money would be removed from my bank account for this. I do not have an Amazon Prime account and have never had one, so I'm sure that this was a scam call. I'm afraid that I didn't listen to the full message to find out what it was asking me to do.

Scammers!!!! They called my grandmother regarding a PPI claim, telling her in order to claim she would need to put £400 on a travel card (this was their agency 'commission' apparently), and they would come to her home (beware, they already knew her address) to exchange the travel card for her "PPI compensation cheque". Thankfully we've taught her well and she called me first to ask if I thought it was a scam.

Ambulance Chasers Calling about an accident 18 months ago. They said that it was possible to claim compensation without providing evidence to back it up (money for nothing) etc.... Credit check company. Tell them you re not interested and they continue to rant and rave over you. Told them it was an unsolicited call, the female has quoted the wrong law, she said good bye then waited for a response! aggressive mannerisms from the off and seemed to call for an argument!! Also didn t confirm the name of who the poor victim was she was calling for, just assumed I was it!!
