Fraud Some absolute cabbage tried to send me a text message saying they were unable to process my latest payment for O2. I don't have an account with O2. Had been pre-warned by family/friends that these type of text messages have been circulating. Do not open message and certainly do not click on the link(s) provided.
Someone telephoned saying that they were gathering information for a survey, wanted to know postcode, age bracket, if I read the news paper, who your energy supplier is, home owner or rented and would I be interested in a call from Scottish Power.

I checked on this site to see who they were, so when the same number rang again at 7.20pm I answered (to wind them up!). Genuine call from Halifax fraud prevention. They noticed someone in USA somehow used my card for a very small amount £4.24 (apparently they do this to see if it s accepted) They have cancelled my card and are sending a new one straight away. Excellent service from Halifax

SCAM / SPAM This was an English speaking polite male telling me that the Government funded insulation in my loft could be causing damage to my property and he wanted to arrange a visit to examine it. Fortunately before the call went any further he mentioned the "foam insulation" and when I said it was not foam in my loft he rang off. OBVIOUSLY A SCAM. He didn't get round to asking for bank details but I am sure he would have it I hadn't realised what he was up to.
