Call was from someone claiming to be from "the consumer unit" when I told him I wasn t interested and to remove my​ number from the database, he hung up on me.. How rude!!!

Called yesterday 19Aug by a women with a very strong Asian accent. She wanted me to turn on my computer as BT had requested her to help me with my router, that was showing a fault, and she could talk me through the repair. I just had a call from them & never picked it up. Assuming from all the comments on here, it sounds like it is Vodafone trying to get hold of the owner of all new phones to either check the service is ok or to check something else. Indian man, after giving an English name,says he is calling from BT Technical Dept.I know that there is no such Department within the BT organisation!!I said goodbye and put the phone down!! It is High time BT themselves did something about this type of call as it has been going on for a very long time.Do not be fooled, it is a SCAM which potentially will relieve you of large amounts of your money!!

I ve been getting calls from these scammers for close on 6 months now, quite often twice a day. I tried reporting them to BT s nuisance call bureau and they tried to sell me a phone that block international calls!!! It s strange how BT outsources a lot of it s services to India , (BT customer services, etc) and the scamming calls are also coming from India? I ve even had one of these scammers say he was with BT Internet, instead of the usual "I m from Windows services" or "I m from Microsoft Windows service

I am sick to death of the daily calls from this number all times of day no message left etc I have found out it is a sky number based in Cardiff but do not answer or call back getting really sick of it now need to find out how to block this number it s a nuisance especially as I am already with sky!
