A very confident, well spoken young man called at 10.52 this morning. He said, is that Mrs Evans and proceeded to quote my address, and then went on to say that I had a washing machine of which the insurance has expired. I only said, yes...er no, and he put the receiver down. I did have an insurance with D&G but not with DAG, and the machine has not been insured in years. How did he have my details? Insurance, claiming to be calling about your life insurance saying they may be able to find you a better deal for your life insurance, asks the basic questions, but wants your account number and sort code to setup a direct debit by the end. Unsure if they are a legit company or not as obviously ended the call before giving details.

Sounds as far away as India where a lot of cold calls originate - speakers usually have heavy Indian accents and difficult to comprehend but when you ask, they are unable to answer simple questions if it deviates from the script. They reluctantly then drop in they are "BT" calling. Next time I feel like acting out I m cooperating just to see how far it goes and how eager they get when they think they ve hooked me !
