This is a genuine number from the Coop Bank Anti-Fraud department. Was sceptical when I got a text from them so I rang the bank’s number that I know is correct and it was all true. Over £200 had been taken from my card but £82 has been returned and the balance of it has been stopped. Excellent service from the Coop.

Be extremely cautious. SMS messaging to landlines is a relatively new feature and used, for example, by some telephone engineers to confirm appointments/arrival time.
