I must have had ten calls this last week from a company calling themselves UK Preference. Today s number used was 01612228888. The voice was an Indian male and was very persistent talking over me when I told him to take me off their calling list and to stop calling me. On one day last week I had three calls from this same company within one hour. Most annoying. I had to put my phone down in the end because they would not listen to me. SCAM Automated call pretended to be Ofcom and that my io address has been connected with links and internet was to be switched off within 24 hours, and asking me to press 1 to connect with the scammer. Hung up and contacted Ofcom directly and clarified it was indeed a scam. Horrible bastards I hope no one gets caught out HANG UP IMMEDIATLY.

This number called me to say that my number has been used in a serious number of crimes and my national insurance number will be suspended if I don’t press 1 to talk to someone. This isn’t real as the police would ring me directly or turn up at my house, not use an automated voice message to tell me. I hung up instead of pressing 1.
