I was caught out by this today. They claimed to be calling from O2. Luckily, I realised after the call ended and was able to change my account details before any damage was done. The scammers knew all of my details - full name, address, email address, how much I'm billed each month - even my security question. They were very convincing. Got a call and the guy said he was from MTN asking if I did a sim swap today. I said no! He said I would receive an OTP with this no 573343. He said I will get another message with a different pin, I must give it to him. I got it and it stated: Do not give this pin to anyone. When he called back, I said I cannot give this pin to you. Who are you? Then he was off the line. I tried to call the no and it was just dead. I blocked it.

A young woman informed me that i had been involved in a car accident and was this correct? I informed her i had not been in a car accident and that i was registered with the Telephone Preference Service and asked her to take my details off any Call lists and i bid her goodbye and promptly put the phone down.
Based on previous comments, highly likely to be a telemarketer or scam. Attempting to call back gives a warning about it being a non-UK number with increased call costs.

Scam call purportedly from bank advising of fraudulent credit card transactions which they are blocking. The caller wants you to input a code which they text to you. DO NOT DO SO. If you do they will, no doubt, get access to your account. I put a block on the call number via my mobile phone provider and sent an email to the bank's security dept informing them of the scam.

They called me and knew my name and address. Wanted to confirm this was me saying they wanted to send me a former for a tax over payment. They said they were HMRC and as they already had my detail and even pronounced my name right which surveys calls never do, I said send me the firm. Still not arrived. If HMRC it would come quickly and in their official brown envelop. Sceptical.

I received a call from Chase Alexander from telephone number 07509701173. The guy had a Liverpool accent and stated I had had a road traffic road which is incorrect. They rang me a couple of times today. I could also hear laughing in the background, not professional and a very bad line. It s clearly a scam.
