I had a phone call from this number today (25/02/2022-17:17) (0161-520-1872 !!!) The person on the line asked for me by name. Which seem very odd to me. As this is a number that I did not know. And told me that he calling to ask if my home had any damaged from the recent bad weather we have had. When I then asked him on how he got my personal number. SCAMMERS: it is a pre recording message saying you need to pay your subscription to amazon prime £79.99 and to press some phone keys to re activate your prime account. Amazon prime doesn’t make calls regarding subscriptions, yo do this only directly in your account. Be careful

Not sure what this was about. I answered and it went silent then someone said hello, knew my email address. Something about a transfer payment being stuck and verifying my data in regards to ID fraud. I had an echo on the line, couldn't hear properly. Caller had strong accent, possibly French. Claimed to be from Virgin, calling about internet. Got increasingly frustrated with me when I said I didn’t recognise the number and would call Virgin myself. Didn’t believe the guy with Indian accent and I hung up when he wouldn’t go away. Scary as it sounded like a big call centre in the background and it would be easy to get sucked in. Hope everyone hangs up and karma catches up with what I believe are scammers.

A very similar number , 7342 225631, texted me pretending to be one of my children, saying that they had broken their phone and had to borrow a friend's. Asked me to WhatsApp them on this number.
Didn't recognise the number so didn't answer. Rang back on works landline and received an automated message saying I had been contacted by a double glazing company, I think they were called "Crown?". Anyway blocked so hopefully will never hear from them again.
