I knew it was a scam straight away as there was no link to my existing provider, so I informed the caller of that and told him to "Bu**er off"! Suggest others do the same.

This number called my 93-year old mother-in-law at about 07:45 hrs. She told them that she couldn’t hear them. They called her back a couple of times, and tried to get her to do something on her iPad. She said she’d have to get her son-in-law to call them as she didn’t understand them. They haven’t called again since. Incident reported to local police as a vulnerable person is being targeted. This number has now been reported to BT security who have blocked it nationwide.

Call center for Learning Curve . They have your number if you have ever searched or done the starting process for one of the 'free Level 2 courses' with government funding. The company are legit BUT beware the 'free' government funding claim - it is funded, but, from your adult learning grant which is means tested, they need all your income details etc and a £125 fee if you do not complete the course.

The following steps are suggested:
Called claiming I needed to get my solicitor to call immediately. Didn t call but searched here so did nothing. HMRC won t call on such matters
SCAM I had a call from “Carphone” today (number above) and spoke to a guy called “Elliot”, about my contract coming up. It sounded suspicious, so I asked if he could ring me later, as I was busy... I actually phoned Carphone Warehouse on their customer service line (0370 111 6565) and asked if they had tried to contact me today, from the number ending in 038. They confirmed to me that they HADN’T tried to get into contact with me and this number ISN’T on their system

Had a call from this number just now. He said that he is from EE and started asking a lot of questions about my contact with EE. Answered call on my landline to hear recorded message allegedly forwarded from BT to say that my broadband and telephone line are to be disconnected. I was invited to chose options for further information, which I have not done. As my bills are paid in advance and are up to date I have ignored this. I believe this to be malicious SPAM.
