Received a text message at 23.00 on 1st March 2020 from 66299 stating that I have joined Just-Discounts which I have no knowledge of doing. The telephone number in the text was 01458 553095 The text message reads FreeMsg: You have joined Just-Discounts costing £4.50 per text max 3 texts per month until you send stop to 66299 SP:Galaner 01458553095 [email protected] Anyone know anything about this? An asian sounding gentleman rang from this number, said has name was Daniel, and that he would only take up a minute of my time, and then wouldn t bother me again. He knew my name and postcode. I asked what it was all about, as I wouldn t give any information until then. He hung up.
I ve been getting calls from these scammers for close on 6 months now, quite often twice a day. I tried reporting them to BT s nuisance call bureau and they tried to sell me a phone that block international calls!!! It s strange how BT outsources a lot of it s services to India , (BT customer services, etc) and the scamming calls are also coming from India? I ve even had one of these scammers say he was with BT Internet, instead of the usual "I m from Windows services" or "I m from Microsoft Windows service
