Claiming to be EE feedback call for my mobile. Epic fail on so many levels not least their shitty VOIP. OFCOM need to shut down the routes used by fraudsters not leave it to sites such as this to highlight their scams.

Called asking for bank details and address claiming I have won a sweepstakes lottery. When questioned they got sheepish and provided cold replies. Pretended to know who I was and where I lived AFTER I provided address.

Gumtree scam. They communicate via a Whatsapp account called "TOY" with a sunset profile picture. They'll pretend to want to buy something from you (even asking detailed questions). I got a call this morning from this same and it sounded like an Indian person on the other line asking for my name and then it immediately dropped. I call back the number and the voice note confirmed that the number has been theft from another user and is now been used for SCAM and that none shouldn’t entertained it. There s nothing wrong with my entry. So I played along and when asked for my name said it was George Bush. Apparently I should get a call back later today as I said I was too busy. This company has called me several times over a period of months. After the first 3 calls I told them in no uncertain manner that I was fed up with their calls and not to call again. However the same number calls me regularly, despite the fact that I never answer now. Surely this is harassment?

Anon, Myrtle s comment is correct at that date. It is, or was, a technical help number for out of warranty BT phones. Bit cheeky of them to use a premium rate number, though.

Had a call from this number claimed to be an seo company from Brighton, as it happened I has my Google Analytics account open and saw the hit on my website from Lahore Pakistan a minute before, I asked for his address in Brighton when he denied it, which he gave me, on google street view it turned out to be an estate agents shop, dont trust them they are liars, and Im guessing all the positive comments have been written by themselves
