4th March 2022 Called on my friends phone but hung up when I answered. My friend died three months ago and as executer for his estate I have his phone. Call log shows they also called on 22nd Feb 2022 but no message left so the number has been active for at least two weeks.

SCAM Message/text sent to my smartphone, contents of text was a Halifax Alert saying I had created a new payee today 28/01 at 12.05pm.If you do not recognise this visit go to a site using the link supplied which was https newpayeealert.live DON'T OPEN LINK Dangerous SCAM, they want access to your account. Must use auto trawlers to get mobile phone numbers and hope some number they text the user has a Halifax account, probably use other Bank and Building Society names.

These people keep phoning claiming they are the support for my internet providers. How do I get rid of them? I ask them which IP since I have 3, one of which is a bank, and I have 3 modems in my house. That normally makes them swear at me and hang up. The other method is to ask them which IP they are calling about, and when they say one, true or not, I say that the account is set up with a security word and they must confirm that before I can talk to them. Received a text from this mobile number claiming to be First Direct Bank, with a link. Apparently my account has been suspended, tap link to verify activity. I am not with First Direct and why would a bank be texting anybody? These texts with links are designed to trick us into installing scamming software on our phones. Please do not tap on these links. Go to your bank through the normal method to check.

First they rang home number. We have call screening so not a problem. As soon as called rejected they called my mobile number. Both phones are registered with TPS so shouldn t happen
