We have been called from this number by somebody claiming to be from British Gas, about an outstanding invoice. As out invoices are regularly paid on time, this is a scam to try and get card details for payment.

"Silent call". However having just had a scam call from 0233322982 and seeing reports from numbers like 02033322972 it seems this is one of a list of numbers used for neferious purposes.
They are an OK company, bought stuff from them, but they call every other week with offers. Put their number in your phone contacts list so you know to reject the call. Their printer deals are excellent.

SPAM seems like a scam call from amazon. Telling me about an annual auto renew. Yeh right.
I was caught out by this today. They claimed to be calling from O2. Luckily, I realised after the call ended and was able to change my account details before any damage was done. The scammers knew all of my details - full name, address, email address, how much I'm billed each month - even my security question. They were very convincing. This number called me today saying they were from Amazon when I thought it was a scam call I hung up and blocked it, it then rang twice more from different numbers which I also blocked, it hasn't called since so I now know it was a scam call so beware.

Tried a free app called call zapper today! I m sure there s loads similar ones available too! Answer silently (you have to be somewhere quiet!) then press home button and really quickly open the app then hit the FAX button and it plays the fax tone down the line to them! Let s see if it results in my number being deleted from their database! Give it a try and post up here how you get on!! PS It s not my app or anything (!) just sharing something I hope will work! JL
