The caller gave this number saying they were from Google about my entry on google maps and that they were going to help me fix the problem I had to get customers to find me. There s nothing wrong with my entry. So I played along and when asked for my name said it was George Bush. Apparently I should get a call back later today as I said I was too busy. Beware, this is just usual scam.

Calling about accident I never had.

A call from Carphone warehouse, using a LOCAL code - ie - 01324 trying to deceive you into thinking it s a local call. You answer, and it s OBVIOUSLY a CALL Centre (by all the noise in the background) and on questioning the guy, is clearly NOT in the Falkirk area. This type of local call is being used more and more.

I received a call from this number just now. He said he was from a company called Technical Help Service and told me my computer had a virus. He tried to convince me using various methods including running the eventvwr (the errors listed there are not related to viruses!) This is identical to the well known Windows Technical Helpdesk scam. This number called me today, said she was calling from the Nationwide Building Society. The female Indian caller knew my name, told me my postcode and asked me to confirm if it was correct. I told her I don t have an account with Nationwide and that she s a scammer after my personal details.... then hung up on her haha!

Up to my eyeballs with work, but phone was ringing so had to answer it. Only to be greeted by a nuisance call offering me cheaper energy than I have now! Told them "no thank you" Asked me for my current supplier. I told them I was too busy. "how can I say no thank you when I haven t heard their offer"? I hung up & went back to work.

Anon, Myrtle s comment is correct at that date. It is, or was, a technical help number for out of warranty BT phones. Bit cheeky of them to use a premium rate number, though.

Called asking for my pension details saying they need to send out some new documents. Felt uncomfortable half way through call & asked them to confirm my scheme number. He couldn t & said their info appears to be wrong. He was very friendly & polite but nothing rang true. He said he will confirm his info & ring me right back. He didn t but I rang my pension company who confirmed it was nothing to do with them & they ll investigate. Fraudsters, do not tell them anything!

Found out it s a timeshare cold call based in Tenerife. What they actually do is speak as if they are talking to someone else saying I can t hear anyone on the other end of the line, eventually put the phone down and wait for the person to call them back, obviously at their own cost. So be warned and beware.
