If you don't press 1, nothing happens and then you get cut off. This seems like a fraudsters way of weeding out the less gullible who will merely waste their time challenging their BS.

SCAM / SPAM claims to be from Amazon Prime membership renewal
SCAM - Claimed it was the National Crime Agency looking into fraudulant activity on my NI number, with the threat that HMRC would block it. Have checked with HMRC. It is a scam. Am assuming the phone number was faked in some way, as it's surprisingly close to my own.
I had a call from these people again today asking for my father. I politely told him that he was not here and I got "whys that" very appropriate I think not. Very rude man also chomping on his lunch whilst talking to me. These people need to be stopped as I am getting sick and tired of being spoken to like I am a piece of crap!!

SCAM automated call with intimidating serious voice saying that I had been flagged for fraud and if I did not contact them straight away by pressing 1 my national insurance number, aseets and accounts would be suspended.
SCAM/SPAM. I was called on the 26/08/20 by this number. The caller said they were from SKY (my TV, telephone and broadband provider). He informed me that he was ringing to test my modem and improve its performance. He asked me to type a few commands which included the word “SKY”. He then asked me to permit remote access. Female caller with an Asian accent rang from this number twice today. Said she was from Benefits UK. I asked who Benefits UK is, and she replied "A company", and wanted to ask me some questions, which would only take a couple of minutes. I replied that I do not answer questions over the phone, and she hung up. A couple of hours later, the number rang again, and my daughter answered. She told the caller that our number is ex directory and that we are TPS registered. Again, the caller hung up.
