Called my mobile, asked for someone I don't know, told them they had the wrong number, then tried to ask me questions, before the caller got through the first question I hung up.

OH received a call on their mobile from this number 2 days ago. I Googled then and found it was a scam. Today I have received a call from the same number on my mobile, which is a consecutive number to the OH s mobile number. No way I would call an 0843 number for a service I wanted never mind for one I don t know about.

The clue is in the number. Apart from inner city London, when last I looked, all UK numbers begin with 01. Clive, Peter, Brian Stephen etc are NOT popular names in India as these people would have you believe. The bottom line is a simple one, if you don’t recognise the number, don’t answer. Call to my landline 19:04hrs. I answered and didn t speak (my usual gig on mobiles too, when called by an unknown or unrecognised number); a man s voice said "hello, hello, hello..." then "la la la la" then hung up.
