SCAM/SPAM. I was called on the 26/08/20 by this number. The caller said they were from SKY (my TV, telephone and broadband provider). He informed me that he was ringing to test my modem and improve its performance. He asked me to type a few commands which included the word “SKY”. He then asked me to permit remote access. I refused further information on the grounds that BT already have my address and was given some unbelievable story about my mobile number having come up in some other context. Two hours later, the same message arrived on my wife s mobile. Clearly some sort of scam but I do not know what.

I Received a call from this number twice today and when i was able to answer they introduced themselves as Consumer helpline, the lady on the call advised that i had overpaid for finance in 2011 and she wished to help me get this refunded however i have never taken anything out on finance. I asked to submit a subject access request under the Data Protection Act where she then passed me to her manager. As of writing, 3 different numbers tried to call me today (020 8956 2943, 020 8956 2230 and 020 8956 2601). They all start with 020, I don’t know anyone who owns those numbers, maybe the same individual is using different numbers to call me. Likely a fraud and now it’s harassing.
A young girl called Alisa, sYing she had information that I had caused a traffic collision, which is ridiculous, she argued that she had been given information detailing my involvement is a road traffic collision , she was argumentative, I hung up as she refused to listen to my words, trying to explain that I did not have a car, nir had I ever been involved in any type of car accident, and as a non driver, how could I be responsible for a car accident? She refused to listen to me, just kept talking over me.

I’ve experienced a very odd phone call this afternoon. Automated phone call as soon as I said “hello” the automated phone call started. “Your name has been used in a fraud claim, from the HMRC. This number called and auto voice informing to be Daniel from Amazon Customer services saying a big order been placed worth over £1400 and asking to press 1 to talk and press 2 to report fraud. don't know what suspicious activity was that and by looking at my account found nothing such. Must be fraudsters trying to do some fishy.
A cheerful sounding bloke says "This is you're local energy supplier, how are you this morning?" or words to that effect. Had the exact same call at my Mum's the other day, put the phone down in either case, as our real energy suppliers actually have names!

SCAM - Claimed it was the National Crime Agency looking into fraudulant activity on my NI number, with the threat that HMRC would block it. Have checked with HMRC. It is a scam. Am assuming the phone number was faked in some way, as it's surprisingly close to my own.
