27 Nov 2021 - Re nuisance calls, said they were a call blocking service and that to continue 'helping' me they wanted confirmation of new debit card as current one expires next week (it doesn't of course), and naturally they hung up as soon as I started calling them out as totally evil, I'm very concerned that they do actually con people by this method. It is the police. It s a ghost number so it doesn t show up as unknown/no number. Always check and confirm who people are though as there are scams. Scams will ask about credit cards, and want info they can actually benefit from.
Got several silent calls from this number. On the final one a woman asked for someone who lived here 3 years ago but obviously only had the surname as she asked for "mr or mrs" - there was no mr. She cut the call off when I said there was no-one here of that name. Have now reported the call to ICO and barred the number from calling me again.
