This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with Three Mobile, could be also calling in the name of another telco operator... Just a call centre.
Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. I recommend to block the whole 8439418xxx range... People did someone answer this number?

This number attempted to call me twice today, once at around 10:00 am and a second time at 1:00 pm. I picked up the latter call and the guy wanted me to confirm who I was, I asked for further details (without confirming mine) and the man said his name was 'Arnold' but refused to tell me anything about the purpose of the call. He then got annoyed that I wasn't prepared to confirm my name. I pointed out that his call was unsolicited and rang off.

cold call about possible reclaiming of interest/insurance paid on credit card - asked how they got my number as hadn t had card for years - said it was possibly if i had barclays, mbna or capital one credit card, if i had paid the minimum amount and interest gathered then credit card company were automatically adding insurance to fee from 2000-2009 incorrectly and it could be claimed back.
