SCAM E-Mail, I believe this e-mail to be a scam. Informed me that my Currys PC protection plan is up for renewal @ £499.99. The phone number that they suggest I ring to talk about the renewal or cancellation is +44 1348 881008 this on checking, is a company in Dudley, using a [email protected] address. I may be wrong but I don't have any service plans with Currys and I think their e-mail address would include some reference to currys.
I answered this number and no-one speaks It's very annoying!!

When you try to redial this number it comes up as invalid - could be a callcentre dialer.

I have listed this as scam SCAM but I do answer unknown out of the blue calls. I believe that if the caller dosen't bother to leave a message, it can't be serious and is probably up to no good. As soon as the caller got the answerphone message they immediately killed the call.

This number relates to an investment scam called GFA capital. They get you to deposit a small amount of money ($275) and they claim they invest it in crypto and produce huge results. In 5 days my $275 grew to $75000. WOW Then one of their senior investment managers calls you and shows you a bitcoin opportunity, invest $18000 and they will produce a $10000 return in 5 days. BULLSHIT. I requested a withdrawal from my pot and was told that I had to pay £12000 tax to release the funds. Dangerous scam

An Indian sounding gentleman on a very bad line, claimed to be calling me from Currys PCWorld with a promotion to upgrade my cellphone (his term) for no charge, could I just confirm what phone I currently had? As I do not have a mobile contract through Currys PCWorld I knew this was a scam call and hung up.

Got called, my name and email were known to the caller.. claimed the FTX bankruptcy affected me and suggested i could regain my funds in crypto.. wanted to know if i had a wallet. I'm pretty sure i do not have any money outstanding, or lost any due to any bankruptcy. Voiced my skepticism, got called by a "manager" after, same story.. even less trust due to impatience and the voice calls without anything in email or regular mail. Received a call 14th Feb 2023. It showed up as suspected spam but call ended quickly whilst I was still thinking about whether to answer. Probably was company offering to get us money back for timeshare purchase. A recent call also showed as suspected spam turned out to be from garage confirming my appointment with them.

This is a number being used to impersonate HMRC.
Phone was off but had a missed call from this number and HUGE reported on line concerns from people about it. It worryingly coincides with DAILY Phishing e mails for past 3/4 months reported to report@phishing/ICO and Microsoft. And apparently NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE IN ALL THAT TIME AND SCAM ATTEMPTS BEING EVERY DAY! Worrying and EXTREMELY annoying. What’s the point of these reporting forums

Really annoying silent phone call to my mobile. If someone has misdialed then at least apologise and then hang up, don’t leave it open for 5-8 seconds on a silent call then cut it off. Not even a mobile number which they usually are.
