The call from this number was supposedly from BT saying my landline was to be cut off. I checked with my provider who confirmed this was a scam call as none of my service is from BT. My provider has referred the number to their specialist department for investigation.

SCAM This is some kind of mobile phone marketing operation and is probably a scam.They're using numbers harvested online and claiming to be in possession of some (entirely fictitious) Covid-19 funding, supposedly to specifically reduce phone bills for companies.It is probably advisable not to venture any private or financial information to these people and indeed best to just hang up.

I’ve experienced a very odd phone call this afternoon. Automated phone call as soon as I said “hello” the automated phone call started. “Your name has been used in a fraud claim, from the HMRC. Called by a Welsh lady saying they were handing out free grants for loft insulation -- did I have loft insulation? I immediately smelt a rat & asked who was calling. The caller didn t give her name even though I asked. She said she wanted to speak to Mrs (name not understood) when I asked her to repeat I still didn t know who she was asking for, but for sure not my name. I said she had a wrong number and she hung up.
As in the other comment I was told to ring 01642850850 - this is useless. It asks you to give the name of the person and offers no other option. Since I don t know who called I was at a dead end

Said she was from Autodesk or AutoCAD and was looking to speak to accounts as license was due to expire. As we don't use Autocad i got suspicious, then she asked if she was speaking to a certain company, of which i didn't know. This may have been a genuine call where they phoned the wrong company or could have been a scam to try and get a payment. As Autodesk now use 3rd party account managers then you would normally know the person calling you and they would be using the correct names.
Called older person and said they were police, left a name, police ref and date, the man was assertive.

It is an automated message that states that you are being investigated for tax evasion and if you fail to press certain numbers, you will have an arrest warrant issued for you. This could be potentially very dangerous and the number should be blocked immediately.
Recorded message,they said it was HMRC and if I did not press 1 to connect with them a Warrant for my arrest would be issued straight away... Just how stupid do theses scammers think we are.
