This number called my phone whilst I was out. Upon returning home and returning the call, they asked my name and insisted they hadn't called me. They wouldn't tell me who they were and hung up.

Scam Indian call centre, says internet is broken and tries to get you to download a remote access computer program so they can take over your computer and then claim a ransom from you. Suggest you keep them hanging on the line as long as possible but don't download anything or give them your details. Just string them along and frustrate them. Then give them a mouthful of verbal abuse when you are ready to hang up. Number was +44 (0) 7444496409.

I'm not even living in the UK and the phone number I got called on is a Dutch one which I do not use very actively. I didn't answer but it's safe to assume that ignoring this number is the best course of action.
Scam call, allegedly from VISA - I haven't even got a VISA card! Claims my card (the one I haven't got) was used for a large spend on Amazon (it's always Amazon, isn't it?). Go and learn about the Indian national industry on Youtube by watching Jim Browning, or Pierogi, or Scammer payback, then when you've gained some knowledge, tell all your friends and family in order to help them not lose money. If you choose not to bother to learn and not to bother to share what you learn, you're part of the problem.
