Robot voice pretending to be from BT, saying we have detected malicious activity on your IP address. Strange, as I aren t with BT, and ironic, as the call is a scam itself.

Saw the random number and predicted immediately it would be an insurance scammer. Sure enough, English sounding girl on the phone asking about recent accident. I told her I don t want to participate in her scam. She paused a few seconds and told me she was just calling from an insurance company (didn t actually say a company name). I told her no she wasn t. Third call. Getting tedious! Picked up call to receive a recorded message about saving money on gas and electric bills. Offered option of pressing number for details or to be removed. I hung up.

As in the other comment I was told to ring 01642850850 - this is useless. It asks you to give the name of the person and offers no other option. Since I don t know who called I was at a dead end

this a legate number of a business in Warminster Wiltshire

A man called my telephone to ask me to access my computer so he can fix the issue with the internet connection. I had not reported a fault, he was not calling from my provider and used a wrong mame for me. So, I hung up. The following day I discovered that the internet connection on my son s laptop had indeed been disabled! He must have visited a dodgy website but it is worrying that they could retrieve my telephone number from it.
