My husband has unfortunately been duped by this company - Clearview partnership. Started with hard sale on Carbon emmisions and he unfortunately has since gone on to invest large sums of money in gems and oil. Portfolio of investment was supposed to go to auction Dec 13. Suprise however - company states had to stop trading as under investigation but investment still safe!! Have since reported to police/action fraud but feer money gone ( life savings). Sent text message to my mobile claiming to be from BT - then asked name and BT number. I refused further information on the grounds that BT already have my address and was given some unbelievable story about my mobile number having come up in some other context. Man with Indian accent asked for me by name, claiming to be calling in relation to DNS mail server problems. Asked if my computer has been running slowly or with issues and then asked if I was happy for him to go ahead with fixing it. I am ex-directory and TPS registered etc so asked how he got my details which he then claimed he got from my ISP. Clearly that wouldn t happen due to data protection so I asked for his company name and contact details so I could call them later. He said i could check them out

Having received several calls on my works phone no. I finally decided to answer one. Sarah from ??? Pension Helpline (didn t catch the actual name), wanting to tell me about the pension freedom changes that came into force from April 2015. She soon lost interest when I told her that I d been in my current employer s pension scheme for 36+ years & I didn t have any other pension funds I could access. Said calling about my life insurance. When asked where they got my number said it was opted in as I had my life insurance with a selection of providers. I am not with any of them, and if I did not in - so would be breaking GDPR
