Scam. Automated call from "hmrc". If you don't answer they phone you on a different mobile number.
Said they were from HMRC and wanted to give me a rebate, I asked for them to send me in writing as I didn't want to give them my bank details over the phone. They hung up pretty quickly when I said as much. Scarily they had my full name etc.
Seems to be used for some really wide-scope telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 1183282xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with very sophisticated robocalls, sometimes classical RTA - ''you have been in a car accident'', sometimes Microsoft support - general computer support, in most cases unsolicited. Automated call. Says some nonsense about avoiding the call will result in magistrates action then gives you a refererence number which is probably: 2019-2101-t9. It states it so quickly, I can't be sure if 100% correct. If it were important then it wouldn't be coming from a mobile! Either way, then says "press 1 to speak to an officer". I didn't.
I keep receiving calls from this number at least 3 times a day. Does anyone have any idea what company this is?
