A polite chap called Alex said he was aware I had been receiving unsolicited calls. His company was supposedly able to provide a call-blocking device to eliminate silent and international calls, an upgrade to the standard TPS for a low weekly payment equating to a one off payment of £99.99. i've missed several calls from this number (or numbers where just the last number is different). They ring but then hang up very quickly and never leave a message. This is exactly what i would expect from some sort of scam/nuisance caller
Asked about life insurance which I don’t have and then hung up. Seems dodgy.
As with the comments above I received two calls from HMRC saying they were filing a lawsuit against me. I was told to press 1 to speak to a case officer who had a strong Indian accent, asked me to spell my name and confirm my address (which I didnt and put the phone down).

As with previous comments, I had a call from an Indian gentleman on 002389001076 and had been chosen at random - the UK government does not do this type of thing so I knew it was a scam. Anyway, I had a little time to kill so let him talk on a little whilst doing the crossword, throwing in the odd "yes" and "I see".
