I called the Halifax on a safe number known to me to check out this number in question. They were not very helpful or interested, did say when they last called me, which didn't match these calls, so I said will they investigate this number and the reply was, Oh there are a lot of calls made making out they are from the Halifax, just use number on the back of your card. Call center sales cal for utilities - supposedly - didn't stay with call long enough to realy find out. I'm TPS registered and while most people know that TPS is a fairly useless paper tiger, registration does achieve one thing because reputuable companies do not call registered numbers with cold calling sales calls.
