Didn't pick it up - so don't know who it was. That was the question.

text message claiming you are eligible for a tax return and a link to where you can claim it. the link has 'gov' in it, but it is not the gov.uk site, it ends in .com. didn't click on it, but I assume they are next going to ask for card info then drain your account, so be weary. never, ever click links sent from random numbers claiming to be companies or the gov, they do not operate like this. for tax return you will get a physical envelope in your mail, never earlier than April when they actually close the

Advice to anyone receiving sh*t like this: If you're really concerned it might be genuine, just phone your bank using the number on the back of your debit card. Then! Just had a call from this number, saying they were from the Debt Support Group and that I was due to reduce my outstanding payments on my debt!! When I told them that they were incorrect as I had no debt and I asked where they got my details from, they put the phone down. It really annoys me that these people have not got the decency to tell you where they received the information and give you the chance to ask them to remove your details from their database. Grrrrr!!!!

I was called from this number approx. 5,00pm this evening, and answered to a recorded female message advising me that my Amazon Prime account had expired, and that a charge of £95 would be made to automatically renew it. As I do not have a Prime account, I did not listen any further to the message, which I suspect was going to advise me to press a digit on my phone, to speak to an adviser, from where details of my Bank Account would be required!! I hung up halfway through the message.
