Just another poor sod sitting in a cramped call-centre on minimum wage wanting to know if I d ever had PPI. I let the young lady drone on for a bit, dangling the carrot of a sale in front of her, lulling her into a false sense of hope, before hanging up. Nothing personal, love; I hope you find a proper job one day. Mind you, this PPI call is a symptom of this illness that is modern Britain: a nation of betting shops, payday loan companies and call centres - all thanks to successive Labour and Tory governmen

I just had a call from this number too, claiming to be "D M Experts". The person he asked to speak to, Ben , does not exist on my number or at my address and I have been plagued with calls lately from some company claiming to be something to do with the Office of Fair Trading, who also always asks for Ben , but they have the sense to block their number. Fraud The friendly female operator claimed I had agreed to sponsor a school anti bullying campaign last February 2020, and they were calling to ask which schools I wanted the booklets to go into. I had never agreed to this, I know every charity and campaign I have supported over the years so I knew this was a scam. I Imagine if i had been pulled into their scam and talked about which schools, they would then ask me to pay my contribution by asking for my card details.

I received at least 3 to 4 calls from this number every single week. They never want to tell me the name of their company or how they got my number. I told them no so many times and they still call. Better to just block these guys.

Claiming to be BT, saying getting reports that my router/internet speed is not as it should be. Spoken English with strong foreign accent.....said something very garbled and fast followed by OK Repeated, when I told him I had not been able to understand what he was saying. Same thing happened on 2nd time of not understanding.....but this time he hung up. Suspect not BT at all.

After looking into this more, turns out this number is linked to what is known as a locksmith scam. They will over charge and drill out your lock and damage your door instead of just lockpicking it. They are not on the MLA Approved Locksmiths. Although, if you are happy of being overcharged as hell, I am a victim of this scam, but they did come out within 15 minutes, gotta give them that.

The exact number was 01340 831714. After searching it here, I called the number back. It has a BT call screener on it. A Scottish sounding older lady picked up the phone. I told her my name and said I'd had a missed call from her number at 7:47am this morning (3-3-23). Her reply? "No, not me, no you haven't" and then she put the phone down. With a call that early in the morning, I thought my son had been in a car accident or something :-(. Very unhelpful and distressing. No idea what's been going
