Scam call claiming to be British Gas regarding our electricity renewal - caller didn't sound professional, was in an overseas call centre by the sounds of it, didn't know the account holders name and said he couldn't give me a contact number to call them back on, he has to call me directly apparently.... took me about 10 seconds to find the renewal department contact number online so I'm confused why he said he couldn't give me one.

I have just had a call from a lady from 01704 222222 claiming to work for Albany Assist and wanting to talk to me about the non fault accident I have had in the last two and a half years. I told her I hadn’t had one and the call ended. Reported to the real Albany Assist as per the request in this thread. Interesting that if you call the number back no one answers. Caller was a scouse female.
Fraud - Claiming to be HMS Tax and Revenue services. Claim that I have a case against me for tax fraud when I know that isn't possible because I don't pay taxes.

They just phoned my elderly father-in-law on his land line and luckily my husband had just arrived at the house when they phoned. They told him that they were the National Crime Agency and that there had been fraud on his bank account. They said that he needed to transfer ?11,000 from another account to sort out the problem and he would give the details of the account that he needed to transfer the money to. I have ignored several calls from this number over the past few days. It is mentioned on http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Pay-monthly-services/scam/td-p/1663414 It might be someone marketing on behalf of Vodafone or just someone pretending to be Vodafone.
They asked for staff member by name but he doesn t deal with our energy supplies. They re just time wasting chancers, don t get caught.
